Former NBA Star Williams Cleared in SC Car Crash

Former NBA-star Jayson Williams has been cleared of all charges related to a car accident last month in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The South Carolina Police Department is now looking for Williams' former teammate, 43 year-old Charles Shackleford. Shackleford is accused of using Williams' name after rear-ending a couple in Myrtle Beach.

Police initially blamed Williams for the accident, which occurred January 23 on Ocean Boulevard. Shackleford, however, told newspapers on Wednesday, that he was driving Williams' 2006 Cadillac sedan at the time of the accident. He says police never asked him for a license and assumed he was Williams.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department released a statement that said "It was determined that Jayson Williams was not involved in this incident and the traffic summons written in his name has been voided."

Williams and Shackleford met while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.
