Food Drive Benefitting Project Mana
In 2016, the firm partnered with North Palm Ministry and their Open Windows Benevolence Center to deliver food to communities in need as part of Project Manna. “Manna,” as explained in the Bible, is food miraculously and unexpectedly provided to the Israelites during their long journey through the desert. Barbie Barrera and the volunteers at North Palm created Project Manna with this concept in mind, as a means to help families get by in times of need. Volunteers from the church and the law firm deliver groceries to a local community once per month, and the food is distributed among as many as fifteen different families, including several children.
The food is collected from non-profit distribution centers like Lowcountry Food Bank and Tricounty Family Ministries, who graciously donate much-needed fresh produce, meat, and canned food items. The Benevolence Center of North Palm is a ministry that is open to the public. Their mission is to assist those who are in need of food, clothing, and household items, and to empower each individual they serve with hope, dignity, and faith. The Steinberg Law Firm has always been passionate about serving the community, and our volunteers are so grateful for the chance to give back to local families on a regular basis. We look forward to our continued partnership with North Palm Ministry and more opportunities to serve.
