Attorney Benjamin Akery Named Newest Partner at the Firm
We are very excited to announce that Attorney Benjamin Akery became a partner here at the Steinberg Law Firm on January 1, 2016.
After joining the firm in 2002 while in college, Mr. Akery earned his law degree and became an associate in 2008, concentrating on the areas of personal injury, workers’ compensation, and social security disability claims. Since joining the firm, Ben has successfully represented hundreds of clients before administrative tribunals and law judges, county and state courts as well as the South Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
Ben earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston, where he was a member of the Communications Honor Society. He was a scholarship athlete in both basketball and baseball his first two years of college. In 2008, he graduated from Emory University School of Law. While at Emory he served as staff attorney at the Indigent Criminal Defense Clinic representing individuals in Georgia’s criminal courts, he also received the Morton H. Aronson Franchise Law Award.
Ben is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Charleston County Bar, and Berkeley County Bar where he served on the board of directors and as president of the young lawyers division.
He is a member and serves on the Board of Governors for the South Carolina Association for Justice. He is also a member of the Injured Workers Advocates. He has been rated as BV Distinguished with Martindale-Hubbell, has been nominated by the National Trial Lawyers as a “Top 40 Under 40” attorney in South Carolina, and has been named in “Best Lawyers in America”.
