3 construction workers dead in 3 days
3 Utah construction workers died last Thursday and Saturday. All three construction workers were working on Utah highways.
The first death occurred on Thursday when a 31 year-old driver drifted over the road’s shoulder and hit a worker pulling weeds in front of the company’s building, killing the 31-year old employee.
On Saturday afternoon, a 54 year-old construction flagger was killed when a drunk driver hit her. The woman was directing traffic on a single-lane road when she was hit by a pickup truck. The driver, a 28 year-old man, did not stop and later told police he thought he hit a deer. His blood alcohol level was a .119, over the legal limit of .08.
And later that Saturday night a 52 year-old construction worker was killed when a dump truck ran over him.
