2 wrongful death lawsuits filed against nursing home in Putnam
Two wrongful death lawsuits were recently filed against Teays Valley Center, a nursing home in Putnam, after two of the home’s residents died.
The first lawsuit was filed by the daughter of a woman who stayed at the nursing home from August 2009 to February 2010. The woman’s mother died on February 23, 2010 after suffering weight loss and falls while at the home. The lawsuit claims the nursing home’s employees were abusive and neglectful during the woman’s stay, which ultimately led to her death. The woman is seeking damages for mental anguish and pain and suffering.
Another lawsuit was filed by a woman whose husband died at the home after spending only a week there in 2009. The lawsuit alleges that the home’s employees caused the man to suffer dehydration, sepsis, and a fractured right hip. The woman is also seeking damages for pain and suffering.
