Scranton Woman Killed in Florence Co. Crash
A woman from Scranton, South Carolina was killed in a two-vehicle collision in southern Florence County early Saturday afternoon.
According to Lance Corporal Sonny Collins, of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Trifalia and Matthews Roads. Florence County Coroner MG “Bubba” Matthews identified the victim as 62 year-old Regina M. Yarborough, of West Camp Branch Road, Scranton. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Matthews said.
Yarborough was driving a 2000 GMC Jimmy that was struck by a Ford F-350, when the driver of the Ford, 29 year-old Anthony Stewart, failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, Collins said.
Stewart was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the car accident, the victim was not.
