Trial Verdict: Horry County Jury Awards Quick Verdict for Motor Vehicle Accident
Result: $212,311.80
In June of 2016, a Steinberg Law Firm client (age 74) was injured in a motor vehicle collision in Horry County. At the time of the collision, our client was traveling on S.C. Highway 22, pulling a trailer behind his GMC pickup truck when a 2011 Nissan traveling over 60 mph violently rear-ended his trailer.
The investigating officer found the driver of the 2011 Nissan solely at fault for the collision.
Both vehicles were totaled due to the force of the impact, which caused an immediate soft tissue injury to our client’s lower back. Our client sought treatment from his primary care physician and underwent months of physical therapy that included injections and a rhizotomy. Overall, he incurred $32,594.05 in medical bills.
Attorneys Michael J. Jordan and Annie E. Andrews of the Steinberg Law Firm zealously fought on behalf of our client at a jury trial that occurred in February of 2022 in Horry County.
Treating physicians Dr. Gary J. Barrett and Dr. Robert Richardson testified along with our client and his family members who spoke regarding how the collision forever impacted his health and quality of life.
After only 90 minutes of deliberation, the Horry County jury awarded our client $212,311.80 in compensation.
