A Massachusetts woman recently filed a lawsuit against the cheerleading training center where her daughter suffered a fatal injury in 2005. Ruth Burns, 37, lost her daughter Ashley as the result of a cheerleading accident at the East Elite Cheer Gym in Tewksbury, MA. The 14-year-old girl fell while attempting a complex aerial dismount and suffered a ruptured spleen. Burns, who claims that the emotional trauma of her loss still affects her 3 years later, named the East Elite Cheer Gym, the U.S. All Star Federation for Cheer and Dance Teams, the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators, and several other parties as defendants in her lawsuit. If you or someone you love has been hurt due to the negligence of others, you deserve justice and compensation for your injuries.
