In 2006, former Jonesville Police Chief David Parker was involved in a collision that killed a pedestrian. Parker was driving 65mph in a 55mph zone but was not found to be under the influence.
While swerving on the road, Parker struck an 8 year old girl who was waiting to cross the highway, killing her. He has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter and will serve four years of probation.
