Ben and Jerry’s issues recall for missing allergen advisory
Ben & Jerry’s has issued a recall on its chocolate nougat crunch flavor sold in pint sizes after an allergen advisory statement was not printed on the packaging. The ice cream was made with equipment that also processes tree nuts and peanuts.
People who have nut allergies could be at risk for experiencing a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the ice cream. Ben & Jerry’s says it has not received any reports of illnesses.
Consumers are encouraged to throw out the ice cream, clean the container, and cut out the UPC code. They can then call Ben & Jerry’s customer service to receive a replacement coupon.
