Driver responsible for moped drivers death denied bond
Bond was denied last Friday afternoon to the man that police have accused of being responsible for the drunk driving death of a 23-year-old man riding a moped early Friday morning.
According to authorities, the 23-year-old was riding his moped around 2:00 AM Friday morning in the area of Glenn McConnell and Bees Ferry Road when he was struck by the 42-year-old driver.
Police charged the 42-year-old with felony DUI. The Judge presiding over the case denied bond after being presented with a $121 bill from the Recovery Room tavern that they man had been at before getting into his car and hitting the moped driver.
The 42-year-old has a clean criminal record and police say the investigation is ongoing. A blood kit administered at the scene of the crash has not been submitted to evidence as of yet.
