4-year-old boy bitten by dog
A 4-year-old boy was bitten by a dog last week in Charleston, South Carolina. The dog was a yellow labrador that was staying at the house of the boy’s stepfather.
The family of the boy attempted to follow the regulations of South Carolina state law, which states that a dog who bites someone must be quarantined for at least ten days. However, the family was unable to get into contact with the Department of Health and Environmental Control because it was the weekend. Because of this, the dog was not quarantined.
The boy underwent surgery and received eighteen stitches for his bite wound. The owner of the dog provided proof that the dog had recent rabies shots. No legal action into the matter is being pursued.
