Elliotte Quinn of Steinberg Law Firm Named One of Charleston’s Best and Brightest

Each year, Charleston Business Magazine names 35 young professionals who are not only at the top of their respective fields but are also active in making Charleston a better place to live and work. This year, the award is being bestowed upon Steinberg Law Firm’s own Elliotte Quinn.

Elliotte is a Charleston native who graduated from the College of Charleston before attending law school at Emory University in Atlanta. At Emory, Elliotte excelled academically, served as Executive Articles Editor on the Emory Law Journal, and graduated with high honors. Understanding that an important part of the practice of law is helping those in need, Elliotte made sure to dedicate a large portion of his free time to providing free legal services, earning him the law school’s Pro Bono Medal.

After graduating from Emory, Elliotte spent three years as a judicial law clerk, honing his legal research and writing skills and learning how judges see and decide cases. Immediately after graduation, Elliotte served in a prestigious clerkship position with a federal district court judge in the Northern District of Alabama. He then served as a law clerk for Justice Kaye Hearn of the Supreme Court of South Carolina, who he considers to be one of his most significant mentors. His experience clerking for Justice Hearn not only further developed his legal skills, but it also gave him a broad and in-depth knowledge of South Carolina law.

Before joining Steinberg Law Firm, Elliotte worked as a litigator at a large multi-state law firm, where he defended several national homebuilders in construction defect cases and handled a wide range of other construction-related issues. There, he gained invaluable knowledge and experience in this unique area of the law, including how these complex cases are tried and how builders defend against them. Elliotte published several articles on construction law topics and quickly became known as an industry leader.

While he enjoyed learning the practice of construction law, Elliotte felt a strong urge to use his knowledge and skills to help the “little guys” and hold homebuilders accountable for cutting corners. At Steinberg Law Firm, Elliotte continues his construction law practice, now representing homeowners and homeowners’ associations with construction defect claims.

In addition to the many accomplishments in his professional career, Elliotte does extensive service work in his community and throughout Charleston. He regularly represents victims of domestic violence, ensuring these individuals have access to much needed legal services. He also serves on the board of directors for several local non-profit organizations, including the Palmetto Project, My Sister’s House, and Dorchester Paws. Elliotte is also a proud husband and father of two young girls.
